Pocket Of Light is now funded by Arts Council England

The year started with fantastic news: our newest project at Pocket Of Light Theatre, ‘The Untitled Doug Lucie Play’ is now funded by Arts Council England.

Following our inauguration in 2023, we staged a sellout run of John Patrick Shanley’s ‘Savage In Limbo,’ in 2024. As Creative Producer, I have been developing our most recent project in 2026 alongside Director, Sebastien Blanc: a new play with acclaimed playwright Doug Lucie, supported by Arcola Theatre and funded by Arts Council England. Lucie’s work has been produced at theatres including The Royal Court, The Bush and The National.

With the support of Mehmet Ergen, we began script development with an R&D at Arcola Theatre. We are deeply grateful for the belief in the project.

The play centres on the marginalisation of older voices in theatre and society and a full production is scheduled for 2027.
